Hello - we received an email from Envato explaining a security risk with a slider and your theme.  I've downloaded the new files and installed them.  Unfortunately, now everything is whonky!  I've deleted the updated files and re-installed the older version.  Wondering if you've been getting other feedback in regards to this?  Thank you for the help.

    Hi Cinnamon,

Actually Fineliner theme does not have Revolution Slider or Showbiz plugins included. So you do not have to worry about that.

Envato just created that list based on only the description on the Item Details page of Fineliner theme. You will see that there is a word "Revolution Slider" in the changelog at the bottom of this theme page: http://themeforest.net/item/fineliner-responsive-p...

They did a quick scan on themes and if any themes have the word, they will put it into the watch list.

I used to ask them on the forum once. Here is the link: http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/important-ser...

But there was no official response except from a fellow author "ImanGM" as you can see.

It is funny that the theme is still in the list despite the fact that it does not even have those plugins in question...

I already contacted them via their support site to revise the list. Still waiting for their response.

So in summary, Fineliner theme has nothing to do with that security risk list from Envato. Fineliner theme does not use either Rev Slider or Showbiz plugins.

Anyway, regarding your issue after updating the theme, what did the issue look like? Because the theme should still work fine after the update. Could you please elaborate, maybe with screenshots?

    Regards,
    Paul

Thanks Paul - sorry for the tardy reply - I was waiting to hear back from my client as to pursuing this topic...the main thing that happened was the main nav went all the way to the right and each item stacked on top of one another.  I immediately removed the files, so I don't have a screenshot for you.  I didn't take the time to dive in further to see if there was any other whonkiness....

In fairness, she does have quite a few plugins installed, so there could be a conflict somewhere, although everything was working fine before the update.  Her site with the old theme is here:  http://www.wisecrafthandmade.com/

In my opinion, it is important to stay on top of theme updates, so I have advised my client that we should really update, however, she has to wait until late October.  I guess I will contact you then, in regards to any problems we may have at that time.

Sure! Kindly contact me if there is any issue after the update. :)

P.S. For the case of the menu issue that you mentioned, it looks like some of the theme files might not been replaced properly or they were still in the caches. Next time after you have updated the theme, please try clearing all the web and browser caches. This should help.
