The author box will display the info of the user profile of WordPress (that is the one who publishes the post). Just hover the cursor on the current user at the top right and select "Edit My Profile" (screenshot: http://cl.ly/image/223D2c39361a ).
Then, on this profile page, you can edit the social icons and "Biographical Info" that will show up in the author box.
hello. i cannot get any info to show up on the author box info at the bottom of a post on a single post page.
i have input 2 people via team member plugin with bio and pic as well as bio on their actual user accounts...
any suggestions?

Or, you can use some plugins to directly upload the photo on profile page. Here is one of them: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-author-image/
