To change the "Change category" text of English language, you can do that by going to "WPML > String Translation" and search for the default language word which currently is "Proyectos por año" as you set in the theme customizer, then you can translate the word to "projects per year" as you want.
I have already done that for you. The English language is now displaying the text as "projects per year".

To change the word, please go to "Appearance > Customize > Portfolio Styles". You will see the option to change it at the bottom.
The plug in does not work well because it does not buy the paid payment. Can you use any plug in that is not payment?
