I'm desperately searching for the page Projects which appears un the Menu as I'd like to change its name and duplicate it (well create another one similar to it).
Hi Paul, it seems I did indeed, but now there is another mystery : I have created a portfolio page which appears as the first image on a category but when I click on it to see the full portfolio, it says page not found. like this : http://emessel.net/creation-category/cosmos/
And I'm just realising that no image appear on the homepage, shall I add them in the homepage directly ?
Sorry I'm sure it's pretty obvious but I'm a little confused today.
Regarding the "Page Not Found" issue, please go to "Settings > Permalinks" and click the save button once. See if this helps. (Normally, after changing the portfolio slug, you would need to go to this page to save it again so WordPress can recognize the updated slug.)
To make portfolio images appear on the homepage, please make sure that you have uploaded the featured image of each portfolio item and it will show up on the front end.
Dear Paul, I thought it came from there as I've fiddled with the names a little and obvioulsy saved each time.
I'm afraid that even if I start afresh with the Kathy theme, it will keep these permalinks as I think I've tried it before.
As for the portfolio image, I did indeed (well just one to check), it does appear on the portfolio but not on the main page. Am I getting it all wrong ?
Forget about my previous post, I ended up by reseting Wordpress (not the best idea I realised too late but that's how I learn). So I'm starting it allover and if I'm careful it should all be fine.
Sorry but I personally have never tried any media folder library plugins I am afraid. I would suggest searching on Google for the one that suits you best.
Regarding your original issues, did you already figure them out after resetting WordPress? Kindly let me know.
Hmm. So I am not sure I understand your issue correctly. I will try to explain it like this:
1. If you want any page to display your portfolio, open its edit screen and make sure to select the "All Works with Category Menu" template (screenshot: https://cl.ly/rQeF )
Remember that a page that currently displays portfolio will not display normal page content.
2. If you want to make any page as your homepage, please do as what I suggested in my previous reply.
Well the problem is, when I create a page as a homepage, I then can't accès the portfolio via the menu. The page remains instead of going to 'création' (which is my projects section) and show the portfolio category selected as first.
I just helped you create a new page named "Home" via the Pages menu, and assigned it to be your homepage via "Settings > Reading". I then added that page to your site menu via "Appearance > Menus".
You can now manage your homepage content and it will display on the front end. And the "CRÉATIONS" menu is still link to your portfolio page.
Hi Paul,
I'm desperately searching for the page Projects which appears un the Menu as I'd like to change its name and duplicate it (well create another one similar to it).
Do you happen to know where it's hiding ?
Many thanks

Dear Paul,
You couldn't have found it, I'm so sorry; I changed its name hence Projects was really nowhere.
Apologies for the bother
Best regards
EM
Hi Emilie,
So did you already find the Projects page? Let me know if you have any other question.
Regards,
Paul

It didn't take long…
I was wondering which media folder library plugins you'd recommend to use with your theme ?
Many thanks

Hi Paul,
it seems I still have the same problems : I can't find the Project Page (though it's Home but I can't see projects written anywhere but in the menu)
I saved once permalink as you suggested but I still can't see the featured images on the Homepage.
Hi Paul,
I found the Project Page and how to show a portfolio on the homepage.
Is there a way to show a page on the homepage instead of a portfolio ?
thank you,
Emilie
Yes. To display normal page content on the homepage, please follow the steps below:
1. Create a new page named, for example, "My Homepage" and enter your content here
2. Go to "Settings > Reading" and select the page under the Homepage option (screenshot: https://cl.ly/rOpJ )
Now your homepage will display the content of the My Homepage page instead of your portfolio.
Thank you Paul, it does work but the portfolio categories have vanished in 'Créations' (the page menu for the portfolio categories).

I hope this helps. If it still does not cover your issue, please elaborate.

Is it clearer ?
Could you send me the login account for your site? I will look into it.
Don't forget to mark your reply as Private when sending the credential.
Great thank you!
What did you do ? (if it is no bother to let me know)
Thanks again,
Thanks for the info.

Absolutely, I'm very happy, thank you so much. Have a nice day.
